Abstract
Application of imaging in pain medicine is a rapidly growing component of interventional pain management. Imaging-guided techniques with fluoroscopy or computed tomography increase the precision of interventional procedures and help confirm needle placement. Imaging-guided techniques appear to provide better results and reduce complication rates. Ultrasound is gradually introduced as a new imaging tool for interventional pain management. Therefore we will discuss the advantages and limitations of ultrasound and fluoroscopy, which would be helpful to choose the appropriate and safe way when we perform the procedure.
